A Different Kind Of Post
Usually when I post on this blog, I talk about my family or Kenya or things you didn’t know about me. This one is going to be a bit different because I want to tell you what is going on in Haiti and our relationship with the Haitian Children’s Home in Jacmel.
We stand in front of an awesome God-sized opportunity to really bring about life change at the Haitian Children’s Home… not only for the present but for many generations to come.
Currently HCH is only able to serve the orphans that are currently in the program. Many more have to be turned away due to space issues in the home. HCH has been presented an opportunity to acquire 17 acres of land to continue the dream of redeeming life for these kids. The 17 acres will allow them to not only relocate the current facility, but also build 7 more homes to serve another 150 or so kids.
The dream of Danny and Leann Pye for this property also includes 3 schools that will educate 800 local kids who would not receive an education, a church and community center. All contained in one parcel of land that has been offered for sale to the Haitian Children’s Home!
Jonathan and Steve completed a video earlier this week which lays out this challenge in front of us and will give you a view of the property.
Obviously an opportunity like this doesn’t come without a price. We are being led and challenged to raise $385,000 for this property. Yes, I did say that this is a God-sized challenge. This is something that collectively as a community, we can do so much more for the least of these and bring about resurrection of life for these kids in Haiti.
If you would like more information about this, please contact me here or at the church office at 919-469-9111 x224. I know that someday we are going to be able to say “we were a part of that!”. I can’t wait to see what God is going to do this Sunday.
