Praying for the Chapman’s
I have never met him. Yet still I feel like he is a part of my family. His music is a part of my heritage and I constantly listen to it for a source of hope and encouragement. He is a big part of my journey as a follower of Jesus.
Today my heart aches for Steven Curtis Chapman and his family. His daughter Maria, age 5, died yesterday afternoon in a tragic accident at the family home.
Maria was the youngest and was adopted from China. Two of their other children are also adopted from China and Steven and Mary Beth founded Shaohannah’s Hope after bringing home their first adopted child. The organization’s goal is to help families overcome financial barriers to adoption by providing grants.
I can’t imagine the grief that is surrounding this family today. I am praying that God is present in their grief and wraps His loving arms around this family.
