What’s A Couple of Decades?
In the overall scheme of things, 20 years just isn’t a long time. Given today’s life expectancy averages, I probably only have 20-30 years left in this life. Not a long time. But I am glad that I get to spend it with my favorite girl Lisa.
20 years ago today, I had an 8am tee time at Randolph Park golf course in Tucson, Arizona. I only got to play 9 holes that day because I had another appointment at 2:00 at Palo Verde Baptist Church. 20 years ago today I got to say “I do” with the love of my life. And it seems like it was just yesterday as the years have flown by for me.
So honey, thanks for a great 20 years. I know that some of them weren’t all they could have been. Thanks for putting up with 2 big moves across country. First moving away from your family to the frozen tundra on Minnesota and living in a hotel with a 3 month old for 6 weeks. Second uprooting the family once again, this time with a 10, 8 and 5 year old and coming to North Carolina.
Thanks for your love and support during the mid-life career change. Even when there was no second career for nearly a year.
Thanks for loving on and raising our 3 kids. And thanks for loving me the way you do, warts and all. I love you very much.
What do you say to another 20, or 30 or 40?
